 Organizing Needs Assessments

Why?
An Organizing Needs Assessment is recommended for clients who desire strategies and solutions to bring function to one or more areas of their home.  This service is ideal for clients who:

  • Have many problem areas in their home and don’t know where to start;
  • Are frustrated by organizing systems that don’t work, no matter what they try;
  • Need an action plan to get motivated.

 

 Clearing Housesm recommends that an Organizing Needs Assessment be performed prior to an Organizing Session. By performing an assessment first, we develop a complete understanding of space limitations, storage constraints, living styles, and other details necessary to offer the best strategies possible for your home.

How We Work
During an Organizing Needs Assessment, Clearing Housesm

  • Conducts (with you) a thorough walk-through of your home and/or selected space;
  • Discusses organizing goals, analyzes problem areas, and works with you to strategize potential solutions;
  • Prepares a detailed task plan, ordered by priority, of the actions necessary to accomplish each organizing project discussed.
  • If appropriate, a list of recommended organizing products is compiled. 

 How Long?
An Organizing Needs Assessment takes from 2-3 hours to complete.  Clearing Housesm requires a minimum 2-hour commitment for an Organizing Needs AssessmentClearing Housesm recommends scheduling one or more follow-up Organizing Sessions to implement the recommended actions and strategies.

Organizing Sessions (Hands-On)
Why?
If you know exactly what space you require help with, Clearing Housesm can immediately create change by working side-by-side with you.  We recommend conducting an Organizing Needs Assessment first to develop a task plan (optional).

How We Work
During this hands-on work session, Clearing Housesm:

  • Plans and facilitates the work session to tackle priority tasks;
  • Sorts and categorizes (with you) selected items and/or papers;
  • Teaches you skills to help you decide what to keep, toss or donate;
  • Manages time to stay on task and maximize the work session;
  • Offers supporting resources (e.g., donation centers, retail services); 
  • Guarantees complete confidentiality and professional service. Clearing Housesm provides service according to guidelines listed in the NAPO Code of Ethics, as required by all members of our industry association.

 How Long?
Clearing Housesm requires a 3-hour minimum job commitment for an Organizing Session.  Our experience shows that this minimum time frame is essential for meeting the demands of most organizing projects.  Organizing Sessions are typically scheduled for 3-6 hours, depending on the project and client needs. 

Many projects require one or more follow-up sessions to complete.
 
Clients are required to be on-site with an organizer during each scheduled Organizing Session.  Payment for service is due at the end of each session.  Please refer to our Rates page for Clearing Housesm policies related to appointment and payment expectations.

Product Shopping

Clearing Housesm offers a shopping service to gather recommended organizing products. This service offers clients with tight schedules a convenient way to collect the products necessary to complete an organizing project. Clearing Housesm requires a 1-hour minimum job commitment for Product Shopping.

Speaking Engagements

Clearing Housesm offers presentations on selected organizing topics tailored to your group.
